Step 2: Filling out the Shipping Request

Rumors always seem to hover around wherever people go. More often than not, these rumors do more bad than good. Nothing nice ever comes out of it. While rumors about people usually go away when the storm passes, when a business gets a bad rumor, it’s bound to stick with them for life.

I’m talking about the rumors about the Cashforiphones.com scam. If you don’t know the website, they’re an online company that buys used iPhones from people. You’ve read that correctly. They give you money in exchange for your iPhone, whatever the condition – even if it’s broken!

But what is the rumor about the website anyway? Before we go into that, you need to understand how the company operates. First, you get a quote given by the company in their website. Depending on the model and the condition of your iPhone, the price differs. You’ll definitely get a low price if the phone is damaged or broken. But if the model is in good condition, you’ll get a good deal out of it.

If you accept their offer, then they mail you a box. The shipping is already paid for, so you don’t have to do anything at all. Then you send your device back to them. They inspect your iPhone and give you a notification email.

I’ve read in internet forums that they were being offered very cheap prices. Some posted that they were offered 100 dollars lower than the original price! That’s ridiculous. Some even said that they were receiving a check of $15 instead of $35 for their iPhone. If the iPhone was that cheap to begin with, why even bother selling it?

To the people who do not accept their offer, they get their phone back.

So now you wait for your money to arrive. Usually it arrives in couple of days, if you choose to receive your money by check. But if you want to get it quickly, they have PayPal as an option.

When I broke my iPhone 4 8GB last month, I was totally messed up. The incident happened when my sister accidentally sat on it when I left it under the chair cushion.             But did that dampen our spirits? Hell, no!  Adventurous as we were, we still went on selling my broken iPhone 4. For no reason! Just wanting to prove- or disprove- the issue that cashforiphones.com is a scam.

            And off we went; I logged on to the website and clicked the ‘get an instant online quote’. I was asked about the condition of my iPhone. I clicked the right buttons and boy, I was surprised that they were willing to pay me $158 for a cracked iPhone. Sure, there was cash in what I considered trash.

            Because I was really hyped up, I finished the transaction in less than a minute. I filled out an online shipping and packaging form, and then I received an email notification wanting to confirm my selling request.
